On a wet and wild blustery January night, I was very thankful to be taking shelter inside the cosy brand-new Rockfish on Poole Quay in Dorset.
Last summer, I had the pleasure in attending a press event to help taste test some of the Rockfish menu in an intimate gathering with Mitch Tonks.
However, this time to celebrate the launch of the brand new Poole restaurant I attended a joint press & blogger evening – this time hosted by Laura Cowan, Head of Communications & Director Chef Kirk Gosden to help test run some of the menu before the official opening.
The Rockfish low down:
- Location: Poole Quay, in the former Purbeck Pottery. They’ve done a stunning job with the space & looks really different to the Weymouth restaurant.
- Seating: mix of tables & booths to seat 90+, plus there is some outside seating which will be perfect in the summer
- Rockfish Team: 40 members of staff to make sure you’re looked after. What I love hearing about is how some of the staff started off in Weymouth & they’re now bringing their expertise over to Poole to make sure it’s a fantastic customer experience.
- Who attended: was great to see support from Jo @Dorset Echo, Laura @JustAboutDorset & @ResortDorset, Laura @mamawiththebluedress & @DreamCottagesDorset, Sherry @ginandcoast, Rachel @15milefoodie, & @EmmaLouiseWinters
- Social Rockfish:
- Website: therockfishuk.co.uk – Bookings are now live for Poole!
- Facebook: Rockfish Poole Quay
- Instagram: @therockfishuk
- Twitter: @therockfishuk
- And why not give Trawler Man Nick a follow on Instgram @trawlerman_nick. He’s the one who goes out at all hours catching your dinner.
The food:
Now the best way to show you how tasty the food was is through photos. Apologies in advance that you can’t eat an actual blog post, I mean how cool would that be?
You’ll have to take my word that it was all delicious & a real treat for the tastebuds.
