Part 3: HiHo Silver – Style, Skills & Silver with Emma Warren

Last but not least in this 3 part interview series, is the lovely Emma Warren who is MD at HiHo Silver & the brains behind the Style, Skills & Silver event. She is also the one who’s behind the HiHo Silver Instagram handle & is always so responsive & witty in her responses.

Thank you Emma for coming on Country Bumpkin Chic, please can you give the readers an overview of your role at HiHo Silver.

Well, we’re a small team so we all have to be multi-talented and turn our hands to most things. In the main, I tend to be the one who is working on brand development with Rhea Freeman, some designing, a bit of donkeywork and a lot of social media!

What made you decide to host a HiHo Silver Style, Skills & Silver event?

I know I’m super excited, as events like this don’t come up that often.

We’re really excited about the day. We’ve talked for a long timeabout doing an Instameet or some sort of day with customers, but we really wanted it to add value for the people coming along. We’re really lucky
that our Ambassadors are all passionate about HiHo and super talented at what they do, so when we were thinking about how to plan a day, we were really keen to involve them.

I’ve been to a few Instameets and I wanted to do something that really suited the country and equestrian sector, created connections for people and really added value for them – and everything has been planned from there really.

We’ve chucked out some ideas, added some in. Rhea and I went and checked out the cake and hopefully we’re all set for a great day. We wanted to keep it to a small group so that everyone gets the chance to talk and get to know each other and seeing the fab people that are signing up, I think we’re going to have lots of ideas to swap.

And why choose The Fish Hotel?

You may not know, but I have a glamping business which is a shepherd’s hut called Dimpsey, based on the Blackdown Hills in Somerset. It was built by Blackdown Shepherd Huts who are just ten minutes down the road from me and I’ve got to know them over the years and now help them with their business development.

They have just delivered 5 of their Brace Huts to The Fish Hotel, so I had already visited the Fish Hotel and knew of them when I went to stay at FoxhillManor, their sister hotel. It’s in a stunning location and a bit more central than Somerset where we’re based. I love their whole brand ethos and interior styling and I know that the cake is good – which is obviously important. I think it’s so important that brands are social these days and they are brilliant with their social media, so I knew they would understand our need to provide an insta friendly location – and they’ve been so helpful, they’re a pleasure to deal with.  Oh and Rhea is obsessed with their brand font!

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Just the chance to spend time with people and swap ideas, it’s so important to get out of the day to day when you run your own business and this is a great way to stimulate the grey matter and meet some lovely people. I’m a firm believer that creativity is enhanced by making time to be creative and to think – I’m hoping that we inspire and are inspired by people on the day.

Any top tips for people attending on the day, how can they make sure they get the most out of it?

We’ve set up a Facebook group for attendees so everyone can get to know each other before the day, so please join in and introduce yourself and let us know what you’re hoping to get from the day.

And please don’t worry if you’re coming on your own, there will be lots of other people in the same boat and we’ll make sure you leave with new friends and contacts.  Working on your own is hard, so communities like this face to face meet and Rhea’s Small & Supercharged group are essential support networks for people.

And is there any other surprises you can share before the event?

Aha – well I could tell you what’s in the goody bags but that would spoil the surprise! I will tell you that everybody has kindly been really generous, so if you invest £60 in a ticket, you’ll be getting a return of some
fantastic opportunities to talk to people about how they approach things in the workshops and a goody bag that is worth more than you’ve paid out. But the really important thing is the connections we’ll all make – priceless!

Thanks Emma for taking part in the CBC interview & look forward to seeing you & the rest of the SSS gang in the Cotswolds in a few days.

It is so wonderful to meet in person the people you connect with through social media! It is wonderful that the Fish Hotel was so obliging and I'd love to learn more about these shepherd's huts as well. I don't think we have anything like that here in New Jersey.

Hi Heather, it was a great person, & we've kept in contact since. It was such a friendly event with like minded people. Perhaps you could set up an event in New Jersey? 🙂
